Responsible Ag is an industry initiative to assist Ag Retailers with safety and compliance. Formed by ARA and TFI in 2014, over 2,000 facilities are participating. The Assessment Checklist is a comprehensive document covering all federal regulations that apply to ag retailers, including EHS documentation, maintenance records, office and grounds, dry fertilizer warehouse, bulk liquid fertilizer, anhydrous ammonia, shop, forklift and end loaders, commercial motor vehicles, application/nurse equipment, waste management, fuel storage, seed treater/warehouse, chemical warehouse, bulk pesticide storage, grain/feed. An assessment may result in a corrective action report with suggested timelines for compliance once a facility becomes certified for three years. The safety and security of employees, customers, and the community should be a primary goal for ag retailers.
